DIY Courses for Dog Owners

Courses for dog owners at Canine Health and Wellbeing Academy by Michelle Monk

No Pre-Requisites Required

The courses listed on this page are for dog owners and their dogs and therefore all you need is a desire to make your dog feel better and heal quicker so that you can spend more quality time with them.

Note: These courses are not a substitute for professional physiotherapy care and it is advisable to get approval from your veterinarian prior to embarking on these courses.

If you are a dog owner and you want to help your dog to live a happier, healthier and longer life then these courses are ideal for you. If you are the owner of a sporting dog or an older dog, and you would like to ease some of your dog's muscle tension to help them move better, or if your dog has had an injury or surgery recently and you are unable to get to a physiotherapist, then these courses are ideal for you.

Help your beloved best friend to feel better and heal quicker

These courses are for dog owners and are not certificate courses

These courses are also ideal if you just want to connect more with your canine best friend, help them with their healing process, and generally just make them feel better, move better and perform better. They will love the one on one time spent with them and having them happier and healthier is a reward in itself.

Aims of these Canine Courses for Dog Owners

As a canine rehabilitation physiotherapist for over fifteen years now I have found a lot of my patients owners were wanting to do as much for their pet as they could, or they lived too far away from a clinic to receive the regular sessions needed to help their dog heal. I didn't want their dogs to miss out on living their best life as healthy as possible so I created these courses to:

  • 1

To provide an opportunity for more dogs to receive the level of care they deserve to live a full and healthy life

  • 2

Give dog owners the skills to connect even more with their canine best friend and help them to feel better and move better

  • 3

Have a positive impact on extending the quality and length of as many dogs lives as I could

  • 4

Give pet owners the training they need to help their dog heal after an injury or surgery when they are unable to get to a professional clinic

Working with your canine therapist

None of these DIY canine courses are designed to substitute the care and advice available from a qualified physiotherapist or canine therapist. These courses can complement the treatment program provided by your professional therapist or vet and potentially increase the effectiveness but only if they are aware of your intention to work at home with your dog utilising these courses.

Therefore, it is important to communicate and work together with your local canine specialist to bring the best results for your dog. Otherwise, your best intentions could contradict the prescribed program and have an adverse effect, slowing the healing process or reducing the health and mobility of your pet.
