No Pre-Requisites Required

Our Certificate Courses provide evidence based syllabus focused on canine anatomy and common pathologies. Enabling the student upon graduation to provide a safe and effective treatment for the canine patient.

There are no pre-requisites for this entry level certification. All lessons are taught by Australia's leading canine physiotherapist Michelle Monk who has over twenty years clinical experience to draw on.

We've all seen the increase in dog ownership over the last two years. In an industry that was already growing consistently each year the influx of new owners has created even bigger demand on your services. As a result owners are requesting canine therapies more to assist in the recovery of injury, surgery, and mobility in older dogs.

There is more demand now for qualified canine therapists than ever before

Our Certificate Courses provide the specific knowledge required for canine therapists to safely and effectively work with vets to provide rehabilitation

Canine Remedial Massage and Canine Hydrotherapy are becoming an increasingly popular request by dog owners as more people discover the benefits of these two therapies. Both offer dogs the chance to move better, recover quicker, and potentially live longer while providing businesses with additional service and income streams.

Why choose to add canine therapies

Here are just some of the reasons why vet clinics and nurses and technicians are choosing to add canine hydrotherapy and canine massage to their businesses and qualifications:

  • 1

Reduce the length of recovery for your canine patients after injury or surgery

  • 2

Be ahead of competition by providing additional services based on the latest research, results and therapies

  • 3

Be part of this rapidly growing industry and capatalise on it's current growth

  • 4

Have a positive impact on extending the quality and length of time dogs and their owners get to spend together

  • 5

Canine Physiotherapist with 20+ years clinical experience

Hi I'm Michelle, and over twenty one years ago I began the transition from human physiotherapist to canine physiotherapist. I had always had a huge love for dogs and was disappointed to discover that they didn't have access to the same quality rehabilitation services as we as humans do. I became determined to change that and have dedicated my life to it.

I went on to do my Masters in Animal Physiotherapy, open my own canine rehabilitation clinic, and designed and built the first underwater treadmill in Australia. I now get to help others worldwide make the transition into the industry that has had such a positive impact on my life.

There's something so immensely satisfying to see a dog's life extended, to witness a dog walk again after being told it couldn't, and to have a dog recover fully from injury or surgery knowing it's because of the therapy provided by one of my qualified graduates. I feel so fortunate to experience this every single day and now I want you to be part of this too.

As the canine health industry continues to expand and more people are looking to invest in the ongoing health and care of their beloved four-legged best friends I'm seeing more veterinary clinics recognise the gap between surgery and physiotherapy as the solution for successful canine recovery.

Those clinics who choose to offer canine remedial massage, canine hydrotherapy, or canine physiotherapy as part of the ongoing care of their patients are becoming the stand out clinics in the eyes of dog owners. It is my hope that I can help you to do that too.

How is the course delivered? Online - Here's how:

Having worked in her Canine Rehabilitation Clinic for the past twenty one years Michelle Monk has more experience in canine rehabilitation than any other animal physiotherapist within Australia and New Zealand.

Since the beginning she has taught the principles and practical aspects of Canine Rehabilitation to her team and shared her knowledge by lecturing world wide.

Since launching the Canine Health & Wellbeing Academy Courses in 2017 she has consistently finely tuned the teaching methods with constant evaluation and student feedback.

Over the years and specifically for Certificate Courses in Canine Remedial Massage and Certificate Courses in Canine Hydrotherapy she has found:

  • Innovative ways to ensure students are able to apply what they are learning in a practical environment (through exams and assessments)
  • The large majority of students have prior experience as a vet nurse or technician and find the material easy to absorb and apply, from our unique teaching platform and syllabus
  • What is important to ensure students learn is the specifics of canine anatomy and how canines are affected by different pathologies
  • Being able to provide a safe and effective treatment to a canine patient requires the knowledge of how to perform a high-quality assessment, to formulate a treatment plan, then the necessary skills to administer the treatment, reassess and update the treatment plan. Our unique teaching platform and syllabus allow this to be learned virtually

Therefore, these Certificate Courses are provided online with practical assignments and a live virtual workshop and should students feel they need more practical there are advanced workshops made available upon graduation.
