Career Opportunities working as a Canine Hydrotherapist
The Pet industry was already a massive and rapidly growing industry, with people spending more of their disposable income on their pets health and care than ever before. Now with the influx of pet owners due to Covid the medical and surgical treatments pet owners are investing in for their pets has increased substantially. Consequently, so too has the need for rehabilitation treatments that can accelerate the dogs recovery and maximise their return to function.
Becoming a Certified Canine Hydrotherapist with our certificate courses provides you with the knowledge, training, and experience to do the following:
Work in a clinic: More vet clinics are adding rehabilitation and hydrotherapy to their services and are looking for qualified Canine Hydrotherapists to join their teams. Existing Canine Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Centres, and even dog groomers, pet resorts, canine kennels, and rescue organisations are also looking for qualified Canine Hydrotherapists to help treat their canine clients. So, there are plenty of job opportunities on the rise once you are certified you just need to research what's available in your local area.
Start your own clinic: As the need for rehabilitation services increases, so too does the opportunity to open your own hydrotherapy clinic. We recommend doing thorough preliminary research and included in the course is a module on starting your own hydrotherapy business and how to work with your local veterinarian(s) to generate referrals for your new business.
CANINE ACADEMY GRADUATE SAYS:
"I enjoyed the level of detail in the course. I was concerned about how in depth it would be because no prerequisites were required. I was surprised at the extensive amount of real experience and knowledge that was passed on to the students. I have many rehab textbooks that discuss hydrotherapy and none of them come close to the amount of information that was provided to us in this course. I was really happy about that. I think it’s the best course available just based on the amount of experience and knowledge that was provided in the course. Michelle’s years of experience and knowledge that were passed onto us was invaluable. It wasn’t just theory from some text book, it was years and years of trial and error and experience. That’s where the value was."

Roonie
"Without rehabilitation, so many of the dogs I' have seen over the years would not have regained the function they did and gone on to live happy lives. My own dog 'Roonie' who had spinal surgery for IVDD would not have been able to walk again. This goes for thousands upon thousands of dogs who have been through our doors over the past 22 years. Canine rehabilitation increases strength, helps restore and maximise mobility, and saves lives"
- Michelle Monk
This course is accredited by the ACRA - Australian Canine Rehabilitation Association
The Canine Health & Wellbeing Academy is an Internationally Approved Education Provider by the IAAMB
CANINE HYDROTHERAPY COURSE GRADUATE SAYS:
"Before starting the course I was worried only doing online wouldn't work as well but it did. It's thorough and Michelle clearly loves what she does which makes it a great learning experience. If I was to describe it to someone else I would say it is intense but worth it. The live virtual workshop was well presented using live cases, discussing the pathologies and seeing what type of questions occur in a hydro session."
